Snake, scientifically known as Serpentes, is a legless carnivorous reptile. There are about 3000 species of snakes alive on the planet. Twenty percent (600 species) of them are poisonous, and only about 6.6 percent (200 species) are capable of killing and injuring others. They are seen in all countries except Antarctica, New Zealand, Iceland, Ireland, and Greenland.
If you or someone got bitten by the snake, you should do some core things immediately to escape or save from death or premature disabilities. Here is describing the primary and wanted steps to follow when a snake suddenly bitted you or someone.
1) DON'T INJURE BITTEN SIDE AND DON'T DRAIN IT WITH MOUTH
Usually, the common habit of some persons is to make a wound on the bitten place for removing the poison. But this is not a good one. When you injure it, the venom will spread on the body faster, and it will be the reason for sudden death. The same goes for draining the poison with the mouth. Because it is dangerous for who does it and also who is bitten by the snake. The poison will rapidly spread on blood. At that time, the bitten organ is also shaking.
2) DON'T MOVE THE BITTEN ORGAN
It includes walking, running, revenge on snakes after bitting, and shooking it with fear. When you do these, blood circulation will occur fast, and the poison will spread in the whole part of the body. While the poisonous blood is outbreaking in all organs of the body, escaping from sudden death or fatal diseases.
3) COMFORT HIM, DON'T SCARE HIM
As I said above, only 6.6 percent of snakes can kill or injure others. Although, according to WHO, 200 people were killed by snakes each day. The whole reason isn't only by snake venom. But, the excessive fear of snakes on 'is it venomous or not?' also becomes into heart attacks and deadly diseases. Old people and children may have sudden death because of heart attacks and rapid enter of poison in blood occurred by ophidiophobia(the fear of snakes).
So, don't scare him by saying horror words such as "it was venomous snake" or "the death is near you". It will be the reason for the loss of life. Instead, comfort him with cool words like " It was small and non-poisonous" or " It will be cured by small medicine". These are especially obliged to older people and children.
4) AVOID SELF-TREATMENT
If you are bitten or see someone bitten by a snake, show the doctor quickly. However, don't treat yourself even there are doctors nearby. You don't know the side effects of each poison and accurate medicines for it. There are a lot of specialists and experts in this sector knowing the whole facets of poison treatment. So, self-treatment must be avoided to save a life.
These are the main things we have to take care of when suddenly a snake bites us or someone. Snakebite treatment is also free in many countries. The good way to escape from snakebites is to clean your surroundings, make free therefrom preys of snakes like rats and frogs, avoid adding rubbish anywhere, make your house and surroundings free from waste, etc..
